Closed Bussiness Leads to Arrest

On Monday, May 27, 2013 at approximately 7:02 PM. Sgt. Ferreiro was patrolling Rt. 22 when he observed a vehicle enter a closed business and then exit.

The officer stopped the vehicle to investigate in the Belvedere Motel parking lot and made contact with the driver Daniel Schwertfeger. The officer asked Schwertfeger why he was in the closed business, which he could not provide an answer.

The officer conducted a driver's license check and warrant check. When the information returned it was learned that the Schwertfeger had a suspended driver's license and three warrants for a total of $826 for his arrest.

Schwerfeger was placed under arrest without incident. Schwerfeger was charged with driving while suspended and he was lodged at the Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of the $826 bail
