3 Car Accident
On June 26, 2014, at approximately 11:45 am there was a 3 car accident on Route 202 that caused the highway to be closed for approximately an hour.
Brian Young (age 21) of Staten Island NY was operating a 2011
Ford Fusion traveling South on Route 202 in the area of the Glass
Castle at a high rate of speed the investigation reveled.
Young's vehicle crashed into the rear of a 1996 Toyota 4Runner
operated by a Donald Walsky of Dunellen. The force of the impact
pushed Walsky's vehicle across the grass median into oncoming
traffic. The 4Runner struck a 2001 Buick Lesabre, operated by a
Lyna Tyndale of Narareth PA.
Tynsdale suffered several possible fractures to both legs and
possibly a broken arm and had severe hip pain. Tynsdale and
Young who was in and out of consciousness were flown by
helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Matthew Kurzius of
Dunellen, a passenger in Walsky's vehicle was flown by helicopter
to Morristown Hospital with a lower back injury.
Walsky was taken to Somerset Medical Hospital for minor injuries
to his elbow.
Brian Young was found at fault for the accident and was issued
tickets for Reckless Driving and Unsafe Lane Change. The charges
are pending a future court appearance.
