DUI Arrest
On Saturday, March 7, 2015, at approximately 7:30 pm, Ptlm. Wester conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle operated by a Robert Smyth (age 56) of Clinton, NJ. The vehicle had been traveling north on Route 31 and committed multiple motor vehicle violations. During the motor vehicle stop, Ptlm. Wester detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Smyth. Smyth was requested to perform several field sobriety tests which he subsequently failed. As a result, Smyth was placed under arrest for DUI. After processing, Smyth was released with a future court appearance to answer to the charges of DWI, Failure To Maintain Lanes, and Failure To Signal Lane Change.
