On Friday, November 27,2015, at approximately 1200 hours, Sgt. Ferreiro was dispatched to an abandoned residence on Rt. 523 for suspicious activity. Upon arrival, the officer located two males in the driveway of the residence. As the officer approached them, he observed Rasheen Thomas, age 25 of Lawrence, NJ, throw an unknown object. As the office spoke to the individuals, he could detect the odor of Marijuana in the area. The officer deployed his canine partner Polis and the canine located the Marijuana thrown earlier by the individual. Rasheen Thomas was arrested and charged with possession of Marijuana. Rasheen Thomas was later released from police custody pending a future court appearance.
