Three Arrested

On Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at approximately 2322 hours, Sgt. Carlos Ferreiro stopped a vehicle for failure to maintain lane on Rt. 523 near Halls Mill Rd. The vehicle was operated by Chealsea Nuzum (22) of Mineral Well, WV. The vehicle was also occupied by Nelson Martinez (33) of Philipsburg, NJ and Samantha Reesman (20) of Mineral Well, WV. During the investigation the officer had his canine partner Polis conduct a sniff of the vehicle for narcotics. The canine gave a positive indication for the odor of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed under fifty grams of Marijuana. Later during the investigation the officer also located Tramadol pills a schedule IV controlled substance. The officer located several outstanding warrants for Nelson Martinez and Two NCIC warrants for carjacking robbery and aggravated assault with a handgun. All three individuals were placed under arrest.

Nuzum was charged with possession of under fifty grams of marijuana possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering the apprehension of another for providing the officer with a false name to protect the identity of Martinez. Nuzum was also issued two summonses for failure to maintain land and operating a motor vehicle in possession of CDS. Nuzum bail was set at $10,000

Reesman was charged with possession of under fifty grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of Tramadol. Reesman's bail was set at $10,000.

Martinez was charged with possession of under fifty grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of court. Martinez had a no bail warrant as well as bail for $500,000.
