On Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at approximately 0244 hours, Ptl. Bodine stopped a vehicle on Lamington Rd. and Island Rd. for speeding. The vehicle was operated by Antonio Panameno of Hempstead, NY. During the motor vehicle stop, the officer requested Sfc. Ferreiro have canine Polis conduct an open air sniff of the vehicle. Canine Polis alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed under fifty grams of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Panameno was charged with possession of under fifty grams of Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, speeding and operating a motor vehicle in possession of CDS. Pananmeno was released from police custody pending a future court appearance. The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
