Recently several reports have come in concerning an internet scam. Each victim has reported receiving a notice on their computer advising them they have a virus and to contact the number provided. When the individual contacts the support number, they are asked to send money to resolve the issue. The companies may appear legitimate (Dell, Apple, Geek Squad etc.); however in many cases they are fraudulent and are not affiliated with the actual company. Before providing any financial information over the phone or through the computer for services, please use for due diligence and make sure the company is legitimate.
