DWI

On Saturday, September 5, 2020 at approximately 0419 hours, Sfc. Carlos Ferreiro observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot. The officer checked on the vehicle and the occupants. The vehicle was occupied by Charlette Aviles of Fords, NJ and a male passenger. During the investigation, the officer determined that the vehicle was operated by Aviles who had consumed alcoholic beverages. Avile performed Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which she failed. Avile was then placed under arrest for DWI. Avile was later charged with DWI and driving with a suspended driver's license. Avile was released to a sober adult pending a future court appearance. The filing of charges is a merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
