On Sunday, October 4, 2020, at approximately 1634 hours, officers responded to the Siesta Motel located on Route 22 for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, the officers determinded that two of the hotel guests were involved in a verbal argument outside their rooms. Zachary Welz (age 22) was arrested for assaulting Vikram Talwar (age 61). Welz struck Mr. Talwar several times in the face with his fist. It is unknown at this time why the two began arguing.

Zachary Welz was arrested and charged with Simple Assault and was later released pending a future court appearance.

The filing of criminal charges is merely a step in the criminal justice process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
