Fugitive Arrest

On Thursday, January 7, 2020, at approximately 1540 hours, officers stopped a subject on Lamington Road for motor vehicle violations. The driver refused to provide his name and later produced several false names in an attempt to conceal his true identity. The officer advised him he was under arrest for Obstruction and Hindering the Investigation when Daris Clark age 33 of Brooklyn NY began to resist arrest. Officers used mechanical force in order to gain control Clark and successfully place him under arrest.

Clark was treated and released from the hospital for minor injuries and charged with Obstruction, Hindering an Investigation, Possession of Marijuana, Resisting Arrest, and was also detained after learning he was a Fugitive from Justice from New York on a recnt Robbery charge. Clark was lodged in county jail, awaiting extradition to New York.

The filing of criminal charges is merely a step in the criminal justice process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
