Police use K-9 to apprehend assault suspect
On Monday, February 11, 2013, at 10:40 pm, Lt.Scott Crater and Sfc William du Fosse' were dispatched to a Whitehouse Station residence for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival the officers located a female who was the victim of a domestic violence assault: the offender, who was the woman's boyfriend, had fled on foot prior to the officers' arrival.
Cpl.Chris Heycock arrived with his K-9 Ronin and began a search for the boyfriend. The officers located the boyfriend in a wooded area near the victim's home and arrested him.
The woman had visible signs of injury but refused medical attention. The boyfriend was charged with assault and released on his own recognizance. Officers brought the boyfriend to a local hospital for alcohol detoxification.
