Shoplifting and Possession of Burglary Tools Arrest
On Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 1331 hours, patrol officers were dispatched to the Rite-Aid located in the Whitehouse Mall for two suspicious males that just walked into the store wearing black ski masks. Rite-Aid management reported that one of the males entered the store carrying a large bag and suspected that the male was shoplifting. The males noticed that they were being watched by management and fled the store as officers were arriving, leaving the large bag behind.
The men were stopped in the parking lot of the Exxon gas station. An investigation revealed that Darrell Harrison (47 from Brooklyn, NY) had brought the bag into the Rite-Aid and filled the bag with Prilosec. The bag was discovered to have been lined with aluminum foil in an attempt to circumvent Rite-Aids security. After leaving the bag behind and leaving the store, Harrision provided the officers with a false information, including a false name and date of birth.
Harrison was arrested and charged with Obstruction of Justice, Hindering Apprehension, Shoplifting, and Possession of Burglary Tools. His bail was set at $3000 Full and he was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail after failing to post the bail.
No charges were filed against the other male, who did'nt participate in the shoplifting.
