16 POUNDS - Synthetic Marijuana Arrest
On Saturday, March 9, 2013 at approximately 1345 hours, Ptl. Serrone stopped a vehicle for speeding on Rt. 523 South near Central Ave. The vehicle was occupied by a Chaz Phelps (driver) age 29 of Reading, P.A. and Matthew Feldbaum (passenger) age 27 of Laureldale, P.A. .
During the motor vehicle stop the officer noticed that the occupants gave conflicting stories about their travels.
Cpl. Heycock arrived on scene with K-9 Ronnin. K-9 Ronnin gave a positive indication for the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 16 pounds of synthetic Marijuana, which were all packaged in different style packing. The amount that the individuals possessed would have a street level price of over $7,000.
Chaz Phelps and Matthew Feldbaum were charged with possession of CDS and possession of CDS with the intent to distribute. Both individuals were lodged at the Hunterdon County Jail on $250,000 bail each and are waiting a future court appearance.
