Attempted Burglary
Michael E. Bolan, 27, from Whitehouse Station , NJ was arrested on Thursday, May 16th at 2320 hours. An officer was patrolling the Whitehouse Station section of the Township and checking businesses when he observed a suspicious male walking north on Main Street. The male, later identified as Bolan, was having difficulty walking and appeared to be under the influence. The officer observed Bolan approach the front door of a local business which had been closed for several hours carrying a flashlight. After looking into the windows for several moments, Bolan then began grabbing and pulling on the front doorknob several times with considerable force in an attempt to gain entry. Bolan's efforts to enter were unsuccessful and the officer stopped him as he attempted to leave the area. During the investigation, a records check revealed that Bolan also had two outstanding traffic warrants from Readington Township and Wall Township totalling $255.00. Bolan was charged with 3rd degree criminal attempted burglary and lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail.
