DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ARREST
On Thursday, May 16th, at about 1:48 am, police were summoned to the Hunters Crossing townhouse development for a reported domestic violence assault.
Ptlm. Robert Medvetz located the victim, a 30 year old female, hiding behind a car in the parking lot. The victim told Ptlm Medvetz she was hiding from her live-in boyfriend, a 41 year old male, who had assaulted her. The victim showed signs of injury to her face and she showed the officer a hole in the wall of her townhouse which she said was caused when the boyfriend punched the wall.
Lt. Scott Crater located and stopped the boyfriend who was walking on a road leading out of the development. The boyfriend was arrested and charged with simple assault. The boyfriend was later charged with obstructing the administration of law for refusing to sit in the police car, and refusing to be fingerprinted or provide pedigree information while being processed at Police HQ. The boyfriend was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of $1, 000.00 bail.
The girlfriend did not request medical attention and declined an offer to apply for a temporary restraining order.
