On Sunday, June 30, 2013 at approximately 0506 hours, Sgt. Carlos Ferreiro stopped a motor vehicle for speeding on Rt. 523 south andEmery Dr. The vehicle was operated by Jonathon Shepherd (23) of Whitehouse Sta. NJ.

During the motor vehicle investigation the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating out from inside the vehicle. The officer had Jonathon Shepherd perform a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed.

Jonathon Shepherd was arrested and charged for DWI, speeding, failure to exhibit registration and failure to exhibit a driver's license. Jonathon Shepherd was released from police custody pending a future court appearance.
