Readington Man arrested for Burglary & Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III and Readington Township Police Chief Sebastian Donaruma are announcing the arrest of one individual after a joint investigation.
According to Chief Donaruma, "On Saturday, August 3rd, 2013, at approximately 9:52 pm, Readington Township Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on Route 22. Upon arrival, the female victim told officers that a man, later identified as Amardeep Singh, age 34, of Readington, entered her home without permission five hours earlier and had unwanted sexual contact with her."
Prosecutor Kearns added, "As a result of the investigation, Mr. Singh was charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact and Burglary. Mr. Singh was also wanted in Camden County on an outstanding arrest warrant for an unrelated crime. He was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. The investigation is on-going."
Prosecutor Kearns concluded, "Unlawful entries into private residences are always matters of great concern."
