Missing Juvenile located

On Friday October 18th at approximately 7:40am Readington Twp Police responded to a Whitehouse Station residence for a missing juvenile. Upon arrival at the residence the father reported his 16 year old son was missing and believed he walked away from the residence during the early morning hours.
Readington Police began an extensive search in the woods surrounding the area, officers utilized Readington K-9 along with South Plainfield K-9 and conducted the initial search. Following missing persons protocol Hunterdon County Prosecutors Office Child Abduction Response Team was notified and assisted in the investigation. New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit, Missing Persons Unit, Canine Unit and Technology Unit all responded and assisted in the investigation.
Due to the vast area of woods surrounding the residence a land search was coordinated, taking part in the search was Somerset County Sheriff's K-9, New Jersey Park Police K-9 Whitehouse Station Rescue Squad, Readington Township CERT, New Jersey Search and Rescue.
At approximately 3:30 pm the missing juvenile was located safe and unharmed.
