Vehicle Burglar Chased and Caught
On Friday, January 31, 2014, at 2:41am police were called to Old
Hwy 28 after a resident reported seeing a suspicious person
riffling through a parked vehicle. Sgt. DeWire located Nicholas
Toth, 18, (address unknown) walking in the area of #45 Old Hwy
28. Mr. Toth was dressed in black clothing and when asked to stop
walking an approach the officers vehicle, he ran away. Sgt.
DeWIre and Ptl. Griffiths chased Toth and caught him after a foot
pursuit. Nicholas was found to be in possession of items that had
been stolen from several vehicles in the area. He was charged
with Burglary, Theft, Resisting Arrest and Possession of Burglary
Tools. Nicholas Toth was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail in
default of $40,000 bail.
