Motor Vehicle Crash
On Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 23:22 hours, the Readington Township Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of Brookview Road and Witherspoon Street on a report of a motor vehicle crash. When police arrived to investigate, they discovered that a 2003 Kenworth tanker truck operated by the Readington Volunteer Fire Company had overturned and a 54 year old veteran fireman had been trapped inside. The driver was removed and flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital by the NJSP Aviation Unit and treated for his injuries. The fireman was responding to a call in Branchburg Township at the time of the crash. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Readington Township Police Department.
