On May 24, 2014 at 3:35 PM police were dispatched to the area of US Hwy 22 and Liberty Gas Station for a disabled vehicle. Sgt. DeWire arrived on scene and found the driver, an elderly female from Staten Island, NY was in need of assistance. The vehicle she was driving was out of gas and the battery was dead. The driver had no money or credit cards. She was confused and could not explain why she was in Readington Twp or where she was going.

The Sergeant located a phone number and contacted the driver's son, who was in the process of reporting his mother missing with NYPD. He responded to police HQ to pick up his mother and the vehicle.
