On Monday, June 9, 2014 at approximately 1021 hours, Sgt. Carlos Ferreiro stopped a vehicle on Rt. 523 North and Central Ave for speeding. The vehicle was operated by Maurene Gall (30) of Sweetwater, TN. During the motor vehicle investigation the officer conducted a search of the vehicle. The search revealed a handgun under the passenger seat. Gall was arrested and charged with speeding and unlawful possession of a handgun. Gall was released from police custody pending a future court appearance
