East in West Bound Lane Leads to Gun Arrest.
On Sunday, August 31, 2014 at
approximately 0108 hours, Patrolman Mazellan stopped a Nissan
on State Route 22 West for traveling East in a westbound lane.
While speaking with the occupants, the officer noted on an odor
of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the car
yielded a stolen Titan .25 caliber handgun with the serial
number ground off. The driver, Jessica Tosco, 25, from
Flemington, and the passenger, Kiyon Ashford, 20, from Staten
Island, NY were both arrested. Tosco was charged with
possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and released pending
a future court date. Ashford was charged with, unlawful
possession of a weapon, being a certain person not allowed to
possess weapons, possession of prohibited weapons and devices,
possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, receiving stolen
property and obstruction. Ashford was lodged in the Hunterdon
County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.
