Jumping curb leads to search warrant and drug arrests
On Monday, August 25th, 2014 at 1:44 am, Readington Township Police stopped a vehicle on Railroad Ave, for running off the road and striking a curb. The driver was a male juvenile and the passenger was Christopher Schultz, 20 of Clinton, NJ. An odor of marijuana was detected emanating from inside the vehicle and there was marijuana in plain sight on the center console. Both occupants denied consent to search the vehicle and were arrested for possession of marijuana. During search of the juvenile he was found to be in possession of a large sum of money, which he offered no explanation for. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and marijuana was located inside the vehicle. The Investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending. Patrolman Brown investigated.
