MAN FOUND SLEEPING BY POLICE ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

On January 1st, 2015, at approximately 1:30 am, Lt. Scott Crater was on patrol when he spotted a Nissan Altima parked in the culdesac of Van Horne Road in the Lake Cushetunk Woods development, with its lights off.

When the officer investigated he found the driver, Troy Caspar, 20 years old of Whitehouse Station, NJ, asleep in the driver's seat. The officer woke up Caspar to make sure he was okay and when they spoke the officer smelled marijuana inside the car. An investigation lead to the discovery of less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside Caspar's car.

Caspar was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Caspar was later released with a pending court date.
