READINGTON TOWNSHIP HOUSE FIRE CONTINUE TO BE UNDER INVESTGATION
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski, and Readington Township Police Chief Sebastian Donaruma announced that fire investigators from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office and the Readington Township Police Department are continuing their investigation into a house fire on Evergreen Place.
According to Prosecutor Kearns, "On Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at approximately 12:54AM, the Readington Township Police Department was dispatched to the area of Route 523 and Schaefer Farm Road for a report by a passing motorist of a structure fire. Upon arriving in the area, officers located the fire at a residence on Evergreen Place and observed the homeowner, the passing motorist, and two neighbors attempting to extinguish the flames with two garden hoses. After several minutes, the officers and the civilians on scene were able to gain control of the flames on the outside of the residence. The majority of the fire in the residence continued to flare up and was eventually extinguished by Readington Township firefighters."
The Prosecutor added, "This continues to be an active investigation and no further details are available at this time."
