Shoplifting and Drugs

On Monday, July 14, 2015, Readington Police responded to the Walmart on Route 22 for a shoplifting complaint. The accused, Brittany Gomez, 20, of Branchburg, was at the store still with Walmart Security. Gomez had been observed shoplifting several items from the cosmetic section and dumping the items in her purse. Ptl. Mazellan arrested Gomez and took her back to police headquarters for processing. At headquarters it was discovered that Gomez had numerous hypodermic needles in her purse with suspected heroin residue in them. A search of Gomez's vehicle revealed additional empty wax heroin folds. Gomez was charged with shoplifting, possession of hypodermic needles for heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gomez was released with a court date.
