On Friday, October 16, 2015, at approximately 11:30 PM Ptl. Wester observed a white Nissan Altima stopped on the on ramp of Route 22 East. The vehicle was being operated by Roseanne Maiorana, 20, of Highland Park. Ptl. Wester stopped the vehicle for obstructing the flow of traffic and tinted windows. During his interaction with the driver, Ptl. Wester detected the strong odor of burnt marijuana from the vehicle. Sgt. Ferreiro and his K-9 partner, Polis responded and conducted an open air sniff. Ptl. Wester conducted a search of the vehicle and located under 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Maiorana was arrested, charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and later released pending a future court appearance.
