Phone Scam

On Tuesday, February 02, 2016, an elderly resident of Readington Township alerted the authorities of a possible phone scam. The resident received a phone call from a male named "Dennis Quaid" of the US Department of the Treasury. Dennis Quaid had a heavy foreign accent, and sought a monetary payment over the phone. The resident was astute enough to recognize this call as a scam, and did not fall victim to it.
The Readington Township Police Department reminds its residents that no government agency will collect money, or seek payment over a telephone solicitation.

Any suspicious phone calls should be reported to your local police department.
