DWI/CDS ARREST
On Tuesday, February 4, 2016 at 0204 hours, officers were dispatched to the area of Route 202 South and Pleasant Run Road for a motor vehicle crash. Officers discovered that Marshall A. Alston, 45, from Flemington, NJ was operating his 2011 Infinity at a high rate of speed when he struck the rear of a 2003 Nissan that was also traveling South on Route 202. After striking the Nissan, Alston's Infinity left the roadway to the right, and entered the woods coming to rest against a tree. There were no injuries. Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Alston's breath and arrested him for DWI after he was unable to complete standard field sobriety tests. In addition, officers located two open bottles of liquor and cocaine in his Infinity and more cocaine on his person.
He was charged with Possession of Cocaine, DWI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, Operating a MV in Possession of CDS, Failure to possess insurance, Open Container of Alcohol in a MV, and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverage in a MV. He was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail.
