4 Car Crash
On Friday, February 05, 2016, at approximately 1612 hours, the Readington Township Police Department was dispatched to the area of Rt. 523 and Rt. 629 for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers observed four vehicles involved in the crash with three of the four drivers complaining of injuries. The crash occurred due to a driver of a contractor pickup truck failing to observe stopped traffic ahead on Rt. 523 by Rt. 629. The pickup truck impact to vehicle 2 caused a chain reaction which caused vehicle 2 to rear end vehicle 3 and ultimately vehicle 3 impacted vehicle 4. All of the vehicles were disabled and were towed from the scene. Traffic was only open to one lane during the investigation and cleanup. The Whitehouse Rescue Squad transported the three injured drivers to the Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment. The crash is being investigated by Ptl. Mazellan.
