On Monday February 22, 2016, at approximately 1949 hours, Ptl. Mazellan stopped a blue Nissan Maxima on Van Horne Rd by Rt. 22 for the driver using a cellphone. During the course of the motor vehicle stop, Sgt. Ferreiro and canine Polis arrived on the scene his partner performed a sniff of the vehicle. The canine gave positive indication for narcotics in the vehicle and a search of the vehicle was performed. The search yielded a small amount of marijuana of under 50 grams in the tire well area of the trunk. The driver, Frank Cabezas, 23, of Whitehouse was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cabezas was driven back to his vehicle and released with a summons and court date.
