Marijuana Arrest
On Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 1319 hours, officers were dispatched to a residence in the Whitehouse Station section of the Township for a disconnected 911 call. Patrolman Pat Brown arrived and made contact with the homeowner, who reported no emergencies at the home. It was later determined that the homeowner had accidently dialed 911 while attempting to make a telephone call to a (917) area code. While speaking with the homeowner, Patrolman Brown detected the strong odor of marijuana inside the house. A later search of the house uncovered over 6 1/2 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and homemade explosive fireworks. Additionaly, 6 live marijuana plants were discovered in the rear yard that were growing in pots. Dexter R. Vandermeiren, 59, from Whitehouse Station was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute over 5lbs., manufacturing less than 10 marijuana plants, manufacturing fireworks, possession of fireworks, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending his first appearance in the Hunterdon County Superior Court.
