Residential Intruder
On Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 0606 hours Hunterdon Communications received a 911 call from a resident that resides off of County Route 523. The caller and their family were reporting that a male intruder had entered their home and was now upstairs. A male family member briefly confronted the intruder and then called 911. Officers arrived and located the male inside the residence. An investigation determined that Wade J. Beitz, 34, from Flemington, NJ had entered the house through an unlocked door, confronted the family member upstairs and took a cell phone from one of the bedrooms that belonged to the homeowner. No one was threatened or injured. Beitz was arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Trespass. He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail and his bail was set at $25,000.00.
