MV Crash - DWI
On Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 2037, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles at the intersection of Route 22 and Van Horne Road. Officers discovered that Joan Lozowski, 55 from Scotch Plains, NJ was operating a Toyota Rav4 East on Route 22 when she struck another vehicle from behind that was stopped at the traffic light. The struck vehicle was then pushed into a third vehicle causing damage to all three vehicles. While speaking with Lozowski, Corporal Rindock detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and asked her to complete several field sobriety tests. Lozowski was arrested for DWI after she failed to pass the tests. She was also charged with reckless driving. After being processed at headquarters, she was released to a friend pending municipal court. A passenger in Lozowski's vehicle had a complaint of pain after the crash but refused medical attention after being examined by the Whitehouse Rescue Squad.
