Drug Arrest

On Monday, September 11, 2017, the Readington Police Department responded to a residence near the Readington Middle School along with the Whitehouse Fire Department for a smoke condition on the property. While on the scene, Lt. Insabella detected a strong odor of raw marijuana from inside the residence. Once Jayson Wilkinson (age 33) of Whitehouse Station dealt with the illegal open burn issue and the Fire Department, a search warrant was obtained to search the residence.

Approximately a pound and a half of packaged marijuana, seventy-nine (79) ecstasy pills, cocaine and mushrooms were seized from inside the residence. In addition a large amount of cash, numerous drug paraphernalia, and packaging materials were also seized. Wilkinson was charged with numerous crimes, including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

Jill Cortright (age 36) of Whitehouse Station was also charged with Endangering the Wefare of a Minor on September 14, 2017, stemming from the same investigation.
