Obstruciton arrest
On November 24, 2018 at approximately 0018 hours, Ptl. Wright stopped a motor vehicle on Rt. 620 and Kosciuszko Rd. for failure to stop at a stop sign. During the investigation the driver later identified as, Ruby Hayes of Lebanon, NJ, who refused to provide identification and refused to exit the vehicle as well. Hayes was placed under arrest and once the true identity was revealed, it was learned that Hayes had a suspended driver's license as well as outstanding traffic warrant. Hayes was charged with obstruction of justice, driving while suspended, failure to wear seatbelt, and failure to stop at stop sign. Hayes was released from police custody on their own recognizance pending a future court appearance. The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
