Marijuana and gun arrest
On Monday, December 3, 2018 at approximately 1957 hours, Ptl. Bodine stopped a vehicle on Rt. 22 west and Rt. 523 for swerving. The vehicle was operated by Christopher Holliday of High Point, NC. The vehicle was also occupied by Jordan Brooks and Alexis Basford both of Greensboro, NC. During the motor vehicle stop the officer detected the odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed raw Marijuana, packaging material, drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun.
All of the occupants were placed under arrest and charged as follows: Christopher Holliday, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, possession of hollow point bullets, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute and failure to maintain lane. Jordan Brooks and Alexis Basford were charged with possession of under fifty grams of Marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Christopher Holiday was lodged at the Somerset County Jail and both Jordan Brooks and Alexis Basford were released from police custody pending a future court appearance. The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
