DWI Arrest
On December 18, 2018 at approximately 1957 hours, Readington Twp police were dispached to the area of County Rd 620 and Tulpen Rd for a single car motor vehicle accident. Ptl Mazellan arrived and found a vehicle heavily damaged with one occupant uninjured. While Ptl Mazellan was investiating the crash it was discovered that the driver Kevin Shamy (53) of Sayerville NJ was not acting appropriately. Shamy was unable to pass field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. Shamy was taken to police headquarters where he provided breath samples and was tested by a Drug Recognition Expert. Shamy failed those exams. Shamy was charged with DWI, Failue to maintain lane, Reckless driving, and issued summons complaint for Under the Influence of CDS. "The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
