DWI Arrest

On Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at approximately 0100 hours, Ptl. Bodine stopped a vehicle on Rt. 523 south and Emery Rd. for failure to maintain lane. The vehicle was operated by David Singelyn of Whitehouse Sta., NJ. During the motor vehicle investigation the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Singelyn. The officer had Singelyn perform Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which he failed. Singelyn was arrested for DWI and the following charges were filed: DWI, failure to maintain lane and careless driving. Singelyn was released to a sober adult pending a future court appearance. The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
