On Saturday, February 09, 2019 at approximately 0251 hours, Sfc. Ferriero stopped a motor vehicle on Rt. 22 west and Far Knoll Lane for failure to maintain lane. The vehicle was operated by Jessica Turtzo of Bangor Pa. The vehicle was also occupied by Hadid Jennings of Easton Pa. During the motor vehicle stop the officer detected the odor of alcohol coming from Turtzo. The officer had Turtzo perform SFST's, which she failed. Turtzo was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Turtzo was charged with DWI, careless driving, driving while suspended and open container of alcohol.

Sfc. Ferreiro then had Canine Polis conduct an open air sniff of the vehicle and the canine gave positive indication for odor of illegal narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed under fifty grams of Marijuana and it was determined that it belonged to Jennings. Jennings was placed under arrest and charged with possession of under fifty grams of Marijuana. Both individuals were released to a sober adult pending a future court appearance. The filing of charges is a merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
