On March 19, 2019 at approximately 0056 hours, Ptl. Bodine stopped a motor vehicle on US Highway 202 north near Old York Rd for speeding. The vehicle was operated by John Oliveira, 18, of Warren, NJ. During the motor vehicle stop, Ptl. Bodine detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Oliveira. The officer had Oliveira perform SFST's, which he failed. Oliveira was arrested for driving while intoxicated and also found to have THC oil in his possession. Oliveira was charged with DWI, careless driving, speeding, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, and possession of under fifty grams of marijuana. Oliveira was released from police custody to a sober adult pending a future court appearance. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
