marijuana arrest

On March 27, 2019 at approximately 1035 hours, Ptl. Bodine stopped a gray Toyota wagon on Pleasant Run Road for having a brake light out and an expired registration. Upon speaking with the driver, Norman Scherer, the odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle. Upon further investigation, marijuana was obtained from the driver and inside the vehicle. Scherer was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug parahernalia. Scherer was also issued 2 motor vehicle summonses for an expired registration and possession of a Controlled Dangerous Subtance inside a motor vehicle. Scherer was released pending a future court date. The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
