On May 15, 2019 at approximately 2215 hours, Ptl. Bodine stopped a Ford Explorer on Mountain Road near Railroad Ave. The driver, Jay Ferris, consumed alcoholic beverages earlier in the evening and failed several field sobriety tests. Ferris was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and careless driving. Ferris was released pending a future court date. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
