Eluding

On Thursday, August 01, 2019 at approximately 0825 hours, Readington Police was dispatched to Rt. 22 west for a vehicle that was eluding Branchburg Police. Readington Patrol Officer Woolverton located the suspect vehicle on Rt.22 west near Rt. 523. The suspect vehicle was operated by Lisa Okurowski (46) of Branchburg, NJ. The officer attempted to stop Okurowski and she eluded the officer on Rt. 22 west. Okurowski surrendered to police officers of Readington Township and Clinton Township on Main St. Lebanon Borough. Okurowski was arrest without incident and charged with Eluding and Resisting Arrest by flight. Okurowski was also issued the following motor vehicle summonses: Speeding, Failure to pull over for an emergency vehicle, reckless, unsafe lane change and unsafe tires. Okurowski is awaiting a future court appearance. The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
