On Saturday, August 24, 2019 at approximately 2353 hours, Ptl. Bodine stopped a vehicle for swerving on Rt. 523 and Halls Mill Rd. The vehicle was occupied by Mary McCrystal of Flemington, NJ. Sfc. Ferreiro had Canine Polis conduct a sniff of the vehicle for illegal narcotics and the canine gave a positive indication. A search of the vehicle revealed Heroin, Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. McCrystal was charged will possession of Heroin, possession of under fifty grams of Marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. McCrystal was released from police custody pending a future court appearance. The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
