August 25, 2019:

Michael Muniz, age 55 from Whitehouse Station, was arrested and charged with filing a false police report after reporting a stolen vehicle. Muniz previously reported to Patrolman Jason Phares that a tow truck he owned was stolen by a citizen within the township. After conducting an investigation and interviews, Patrolman Phares gathered evidence to prove that Muniz had falsely reported the crime. Muniz was released from custody on a summons complaint.

The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
