August 18, 2019:

At 1040 hours, the Readington Township Police Department was dispatched to a single vehicle crash in front of the Spinning Wheel Diner on US Route 22 east. Patrolman Jason Phares responded and investigated the crash. During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle displayed indicators of impairment and subsequently failed sobriety tests. The driver was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver was additionally charged with possession of hypodermic needles, and reckless driving.

Defendant information: Joseph Schechner, 24 years of age, Freehold NJ.
