On Saturday, November 30, 2019 at approximately 1731 hours, Readington Police was dispatched to the intersection of School Rd. and Whitehouse Ave. for a motor vehicle crash. As patrol responded, they were advised that the female involved in the crash fled the scene on foot. The female was identified as Rose Volturo (44) of Whitehouse Sta. Volturo was later located at her residence, where she was placed under arrest for DWI and resisting arrest by Cpl. Ayotte. Volturo was issued additional motor vehicle summonses for failure to report a motor vehicle accident, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, careless driving and driving while suspended. Volturo was released from police custody to a sober adult. The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
