On Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at approximately 2100 hours, Sgt. Carlos Ferreiro stopped a motor vehicle for speeding on Rt. 22 east. The vehicle was operated by Carmeline Genovese of Hillsborough, NJ. A search of the vehicle revealed under fifty grams of Marijuana. Genovese was arrested and charged with possession of under fifty grams of Marijuana, speeding and operating a motor vehicle in possession of CDS. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
